What
is new for 2020 at CarbonWorks? Exciting leading Edge Research and
Development in Canada to provide the best material in the world for our
clients.
CarbonWork
is currently involved with research and testing of the
new revolutionary material Graphene, this material will in the future,
replace the carbon fiber material that is used today worldwide in the
manufacture and repair of Formula 1 Cars, Ducati Motorcycles, Aerospace
Technology, Bicycle Manufacturing , after Market OEM and Repair
Services. The material Graphene is a thin layer of pure carbon; it is a
single tightly packed layer of carbon atoms bonded together in a
hexagonal honeycomb lattice. Graphene is the thinnest compound known to
man at one atom thick, the lightest material known (with 1 square meter
weighing at around 0.77 milligrams), and the strongest compound
discovered (between 100-300 times stronger than steel, with a tensile
stiffness of 150,000,000 psi) Graphene has high corrosion resistant
properties, and is highly inert, so can act as a corrosion barrier
between oxygen and water diffusion.
In
2016, CarbonWorks will start to use this new material to provide the
added benefits for all carbon repairs and custom paint projects on road
bikes, carbon wheels, motorcycles and OEM After market Automotive
customer base. We have invested in the future to be at the leading edge
of technology to provide the best materials for our clients so that they
have full confidence in our repair and restoration services.
